Business in the Community: Ice Hockey
November & December 2007

On 2nd November representatives of the East Belfast Partnership
and South Belfast partnership were our special guests at an ice
hockey match, featuring the Belfast Giants. Two weeks later, ice
hockey again provided the entertainment for members of Falls
Road Community Council (west Belfast) and Belfast Eagle Sea
Cadets (Greater Shankill). Then on 14th December, the Belfast Eagle Sea Cadets returned as our guests at another ice hockey match. Unfortunately, another group of guests who were invited to join them were unable to do so due to unforeseen circumstances. All three events were held in partnership with Business in the Community.

Northern Ireland International Horse Show reception and dinner
Wednesday 24th October 2007

The Odyssey Trust hosted a reception and dinner in the Atrium,
W5 for 170 specially-invited guests. Compere for the gala
evening was Diane Harron. Speakers for the evening included
Mr Joe Sloane, President of the Northern Ireland International
Horse Show, Mr Alan Gibson, Chairman of the Odyssey Trust
and Mr Mervyn Elder, Chairman of the Northern Ireland Events
Company.

Tallaght Welfare Society and North Belfast Senior Citizens Forum
Thursday 13th September 2007

As part of a strategic move to foster inter-community contact and
cross-border understanding, the Odyssey Trust hosted a
successful social event, attended by members of the Tallaght
Welfare Society from Dublin and the North Belfast Senior Citizens
Forum. On their arrival, the visitors attended a reception at which
the Trust’s chairman, Mr Alan Gibson delivered a short address
welcoming the guests and explaining the work of the Odyssey Trust and its vision for the future. Immediately afterwards, Mr Gibson presented the leading representatives of each group with a gift of crystal ware. Following a buffet lunch, the guests were treated to a Lagan boat tour and visited the Arena before departing on a shopping trip to Belfast city centre.
