Alan Gibson
Alan Gibson was appointed Chairman of the Trust in January 2005 having been a member of the Board since 2000. He is a chartered Accountant having been deputy senior partner in Pricewaterhouse Coopers Northern Ireland until his retirement. He is a director of Aspire one of the leading Micro Finance companies in the UK and is an independent member of the Audit Committee of the Department of Social Development.
He is a Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and was awarded the OBE for services to the accounting profession in Ireland.
Gerry Moore
Gerry Moore is an Independent Management Consultant with a background in education, marketing and management development. He is an Economic Graduate from Queen’s University and also holds postgraduate qualification in education and management. He is an active member of the Institute of Directors as well as the Queen’s Graduate Association. He is managing Director of his own business Mindshare (NI) Ltd which specialises in personal as well as business development both here and the Republic of Ireland.
He is Chairman of the Commercial Committee.
Maeve Bell
Maeve Bell was Chief Executive of the Consumer Council from its inception
until 2003 and has wide experience in the public, private and voluntary
>sectors. She has served on the Boards of Phoenix Natural Gas, the Legal
Rights, and the BBC Broadcasting Council for Northern Ireland.
A former Vice Chair of the Sports Council, and Chair of RYANI,
the governing body for sailing and boating, she remains keenly
involved in sports administration. Since 2003 she has been a member
of the judging panel for the NICVA Link Awards, the charity Oscars.
James Burgess
James Burgess is an independent property consultant, acting as advisor to the Belfast Harbour Commissioners and NILGOSC (Northern Ireland Local Government Officers Superannuation Committee).
His consultancy projects include the Titanic Quarter in Belfast and projects in England and Hungary.
Eamonn McCartan
Eamonn McCartan is Chief Executive of the Sports Council for Northern Ireland. He is Chair of the Community Relations Council and Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster, Faculty of Business and Management (Sports Studies).
He is interested in management, particularly strategic management, and taught business studies at Queen’s University and the Open University.
He enjoys basketball, running and golf.
Alan Moneypenny
Alan Moneypenny is the Chief Executive of a cross border organisation working on the delivery of a number of major projects. Based in Donegal, he was educated at both Queen’s University Belfast and the Federal Executive Institute of the University of Virginia.
His previous positions include Director of Recreation for Antrim Borough Council where he was responsible for the opening and operating of the Antrim Forum, and a wide range of other leisure and sports facilities.
He is a Council member of Sport NI, an independent Director on the Board of Enterprise NI, an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee of North Down Borough Council and Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee of the Riverside Theatre.
Norman Morrison
Mr Morrison held the post of Chief Engineer and Scientist with the Department of Economic Development and was Chief Executive of the Industrial Research and Technology Unit.
He also held the post of Deputy Senior Chief Inspector with the Department of Education.
Mr Morrison is currently Chairman of the Department of Education and Learning – Post Graduate Awards Advisory Board.
